Three Songs To The Head vol. 18

Hello and welcome back to Three Songs to the Head where we share three songs that moved us, three songs we love, three songs we can’t get out of our heads! Today, we’re featuring These Curious Thoughts, Sundae + Mr. Goessl and The Environment. Enjoy!

I play in a band called The Glass Notes, where I send Robb Benson lyrics and he turns them into songs – so, of course, I have a soft spot for any other musical duo who operates this way. Enter: These Curious Thoughts, comprised of Jim Radford and Sean Dunlop. Jim (UK) writes the words, sends them to Sean (US), who then puts them to music. The duo has a bit of R.E.M. in them, with a little 90’s alternative rock sound, which is very appealing. Check out one of their videos here:

Sundae + Mr. Goessl are as classic as they come – and we’re lucky that they’re playing here in Seattle right now! The band, made up of Kate Voss and Jason Goessl look the part, too – always stylish, often grinning while playing their tunes. Their aesthetic, on all fronts, is something the music world is in need of – I’ll say no more, just watch here:

The Environment came into existence in late 2013 after the last Torn ACLs live performance (at Doe Bay). The music is pop-forward, tonal, harmonic with clear, precise rhythms. It’s music you can listen to rushing down a highway, or when you hope a song will put you in a good mood – because this music will do just that. Check out their song “GMT” here:
