Three Songs To The Head vol. 17

Hello and welcome back to Three Songs to the Head where we share three songs that moved us, three songs we love, three songs we can’t get out of our heads! Today, we’re featuring Thunderpussy, KAIROS and Tangerine. Enjoy!

Is it possible to allure while playing giant, growling, rolling, loud rock and roll? YES, yes it is. Thuderpussy proves it. That aside, they are a collection of some of the town’s best musicians. Screeching guitars, heavy rhythms, the band is not afraid to shred or move around on stage – especially lead singer Molly Sides. She’s accompanied by Whitney Petty on guitar, Leah Julius on bass and Lena Simon on drums. It’s an all-star cast with hecka attitude. Seattle is lucky to know this band. Check them out here:

Speaking of Lena Simon, she is the front woman for KAIROS, who recently released the track, “Cold Habits (Manatee Commune Remix)”. It’s a beautiful mix of electric music, analog instruments and Simon’s dreamy vocals. It’s a song that dips a toe in many different waters. So it can’t help but be refreshing (see what I did there?). Check out the tune here:

I didn’t realize this, but all three bands here are female-fronted. That’s great! Or maybe it doesn’t matter and it’s not worth mentioning. What IS worth mentioning, though, is Tangerine. They are releasing a new album on the 28th, called Behemoth. Their first single, “You’ll Always Be Lonely”, is another prime example of the upbeat pop feel with hopping guitars, pleasant bass lines and the sprinkling of singer Marika.
