Hello and welcome back to Three Songs to the Head where we share three songs that moved us, three songs we love, three songs we can’t get out of our heads! Today, we’re featuring Bachelors of Fine Art, Planes on Paper and Asher Weiss. Enjoy!

Bachelors of Fine Art are, at least in my mind, influenced by their New York contemporaries, The Strokes. And, lucky for us, they are coming to Seattle Friday, May 23. With quick snare hits, contained shouting vocals and melodic guitar rips, the band is poised to find a home here in the Emerald City, if for just a day.

Planes on Paper play sweet music, thoughtful music, music that fits in with the Cascadian folk that permeates the Seattle, Washington and Northwest scene (that is creeping across the country, ‘ta boot). Hear them sing about scarves, packing bags and keeping harmony. Hear it all here.

Asher Weiss’s “The Rubicon” is reminiscent of Elliot Smith, mixed with a touch of extra Rock. The song is about the difficulty of love and the difficulty of sticking with someone. But what better option is there? For Asher floundering is the point of discussion. But, as with anything, what are we acting for? Take a listen and decide for yourself here.
