Well, here I am, four months out from my previous post. One of my goals this year, and the focus of my ongoing entries here on Monarch, was to produce a music concert with my dear friends and musicians Josh Rawlings, Evan Flory-Barnes, and Jeremy Jones of The Teaching. I am thrilled to say that a concert is happening on May 4th at the Triple Door, though not in the way I had been planning – but that’s perfectly okay. What a wonderful whirl… My life. Right now: My apartment has been productivity central lately. My roommate and I have yet to get a couch down here in Austin and, as amazing as it is to sprawl across the living room floor for a hearty full-body stretch after our 5-hour dance rehearsals, somehow the floor is less welcoming for 8+ hour computer work sessions. And, well, I can’t tell you the number of unintentional shavasanas I’ve found myself in when trying to do computer work in bed. Bad news for my to-do lists.

That said, Seattle is very much my home. There’s a palpable energy in our town’s music scene and I am proud to be a part of it and to have met and collaborated with such lovely, talented, and visionary human beings during my involvement and growth in the past 6 years. So far, I’ve been in Austin for one month and, while I do miss home, I am excited […]
