Bio:
Serrah Russell used Instant Film, vintage and high end lifestyle magazines and found photographs to explore issues of femininity, relationships, and the effects of time. I am drawn to beauty that exists in the tragedy of commonplace living. I have forever lived in Seattle, WA, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Washington. I believe that whiskey tastes better in mason jars, that all objects have an embedded history, and that time travel just might be possible. I often like the idea of things more than the thing itself.
