I think he may have missed the memo himself, but God, after all, is dead. This makes it harder and harder to listen to the emissaries of his Word with anything approximating sincerity, or more exactly, it’s hard to listen at all. It’s a tough job slanging obsolete product. Pastors and preachers might as well be abacus salesmen, though this, frankly, sounds like an easier gig.

Women Against Street Harassment: Moving Through Fear with Jordan Giarratano
Tuesday, January 27, 2015 12:43 — 1 Comment
Three months ago, I was tasked with writing a special edition of Women Against Street Harassment, one that spoke specifically to men. I’d been spending more time than I wanted to fielding rape threats and nasty remarks from men who weren’t happy with the column’s past iterations, and I could feel myself entering a bitter, polemical space. I was determined to make the men’s issue happen, I just didn’t know where to begin.

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to work with master chefs Tom Douglas (chef/owner of Lola, Palace Kitchen, Serious Pie, Dahlia Lounge, Etta’s, as well as many, many others) and Thierry Rautureau (chef/owner of restaurants Loulay and Luc) not only within the world of radio, both present day and back when the duo had their first radio show, In the Kitchen with Tom and Thierry, but I’ve assisted Mr. Douglas in the kitchen as well – in Hawaii no less!Â
The Monarch Drinks With Clobberin Mame

It’s a cold and rainy night in December. I just left work and I’m stuck in gridlock traffic in Belltown. It’s atypical of me to be going out on the town on a Wednesday night. Normally, I would be heading over to my yoga studio or on my way home to curl up with a hot cup of tea and a good book. But I make an exception from my regular routine to have drinks with Clobberin Mame from the Rat City Rollergirls.

One Super Important Question For Dr. Sarah Ballard
Tuesday, December 9, 2014 11:01 — 0 Comments
I continue to be interested in what other people think about the movie Interstellar – how did they process the film, the scientific data and facts presented, how did people appreciate, or not, the narrative? You can check out this interview we posted with a Stanford lecturer about the movie. To keep the conversation going, I reached out to Sarah Ballard, who, among other accomplishments, has discovered four planets before the age of 30. I asked Sarah One Super Important Question.
Joshua McNichols’ Day Job Podcast

I first found out about the Day Job podcast through the show’s episode with Spekulation. They went behind the counter with Spek, the rapper/producer, focusing on his job as a barista. The show was SO WELL DONE CLEAR AND CRISP that I had to find out more information about it. So, I reached out to founder Joshua McNichols and asked him a few questions about the series!Â
The answer isn't poetry, but rather language
