Ozzy Osbourne, Jefferson Airplane, your mysterious dark dreams – these are but some of the elements that comprise The Gods Themselves and their song, “Thunderbird.” The band says The Gods Themselves called them to make music and they may be right – there is a particular giant sound that comes through them and it beckons us to listen. The first time I heard Wes Speight, I was playing a show at the Blue Moon and he came on after us – he had painters paint during his set and it was memorable (he even included Monarch favorite, Henry). When I heard his song “The Old Man & The Sea” I thought it was a Tom Waits hit – the gravel growl, the booming shout. What a gift! You can check it out here via this site for free!

Robb Benson fronts the new Seattle band, Stereo Embers, and their debut video for the song “Tomorrow” features some of the city’s best players. It’s a bright tune that energizes, and much of that work is done by Benson’s right hand man, Rock Tim Dijulio. Check out the quirky, fun video here:
